glitch in new BF2 patch?

ever since the patch came out for battlefield 2 I have been seeing a lot of people ranking up. Just today I was ranked again but this time it was not instant like I did last time when i killed one time and I was ranked automatically like the others. This time i played in a different server and 5 minutes later i was ranked again! either they changed the ranking system big time and you can rank higher faster or there is a glitch going on? not sure but i love getting ranked but not this fast. hope it gets fixed soon or i will be highest rank in the game soon.
