I feel like i am 6 years old again! Transformers: Devestation came out on the 6th of October and i have yet turned the game off! The nostalgia meter up through the roof! All the Autobots and Decepticons i grew up with are in this game! You can only play as the Autobots but knowing the story of the game i can see why. Here are a few highlights of the game from the last 48 hours!
I just downloaded the game off of the steam and launched it for the 1st time. This clip alone shows how excited I was to play as the heros i grew up with! At first I had some video issues and set the game up to low graphic settings but as you see there the game doesn’t look that bad at all! They keep the cartoony look from the 80’s hence the reason for the nostalgic overload! Seeing all the main characters from the series is what made this game great! Each character had some unique dialog in certain parts when you played as them. Optimus had his professional leadership talk while grimlock had his normal dinobot no care attitude. You can play as Bumble bee, Sideswipe, and Wheeljack. Since i bought the game before the actual launch i got an exclusive DLC that allows me to play as Nemesis Prime, Goldfire and Redalert.
While redalert is technically still sideswipe and just an upgraded version of him it was cool to play as him. Here is a clip of him fighting off both Menasor and Devestator!
Now clearly it wasn’t him by himself but i clearly did all the fighting somehow. As for fighting in general each Autobot has their own unique style. Some were fast and some were slow. Grimlock being as strong as he was he seemed to be one of the slowest in my opinion but he sure was the funniest. When i played as him i roleplayed as him with some dialog of my own.
Yeh grimlock was fun to play and one thing i wanna say is you actually have to play as each member the whole game to even get the achievement for playing as them so as you can see i actually beat the game 5 times! Did it seem boring? not really because of how each Autobot is unique and all the changed you can do to them when it comes to guns and upgrades the replay value is limitless. Achievements overall are not that simple! There is one achievement where you have to find all collectables. The makers of the game liked to fool the players but having some sort of checklist but it ends out there are 2 hidden collectables that count to the actual overall achievement. I so far have everything but one hidden Data Core and i can’t seem to find it! I spent 10 hours looking for the all and went to every single area in all the maps and just can’t seem to find the last one! The funny thing about this is my goal show 98.6% complete! I will find it eventually.
Now one thing i forgot to mention is the game does have a challenge mode. You can do many challenges like “defeat X amount of decepticons in X amount of time” or do a race and also you can do at least 3 different versions of the insecticon fight on the platform which i wish to show off a clip but my last livestream it cut off and off so not sure if i got the footage properly but will record a session to show it off. I love how they made it like galaga!
If you are a tranformers fan buy this! Yeh it seems pricey right now but it’s worth every penny! I have it on STEAM but you can get it on PS3, PS4, XBOX360 and XBOX One
